WARNING: CA Proposition 65 Labeling Requirements for Cummins Generators

The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986,” commonly known as “Prop 65,” requires retailers, distributors and manufacturers to label consumer products containing any of the 973 substances the State of California has identified as toxic or carcinogenic.

As part of an effort to improve consumer visibility to potentially hazardous substances, a change in safe harbor labeling was proposed beginning August 30, 2018. Products originating from Cummins manufacturing and distributions centers with will now be shipped with this warning label.

Cummins dealers are asked to support this mandate by:

  • Re-labeling products that have been separated from a labeled multi-pack, using labels provided by Cummins or by placing the item in a pre-printed plastic bag at the time of sale.
  • Displaying a Prop 65 warning prominently on the product page or making it clearly accessible to the purchaser prior to completing an online purchase. We have provided a jpg that is in accordance with labeling requirements. Please right click on the image above to save it to your computer.
